The "Yes" Prayer

With praise for all You are, Lord
And thanks for all You bless;
Lord, grant these ten petitions
With Your eternal Yes:

Please show me that You’re there
When I can’t see Your face;
Send troubled souls my way
Their wounds I will erase.

Let me see with Your eyes
My mind with Your thoughts fill;
But more than wisdom give me
The strength to do Your will.

Bless me with abundance
Then put me to the test;
Gladly will I give You
Much more than I possess.

Send me Your tranquility
In troubled times and calm;
With loving arms sustain me
Through suffering and harm.

Forgive me for my sins
Though legion they may be;
When death and evil triumph,
Bring good from tragedy.

But most of all reveal
The meaning of my life
The purpose of my glories
The reason for my strife
My destiny in heaven
No tears to flow again
My God please give me all;
In Christ Our Lord,
Amen.

Prayer from Sioux Indians

O Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the winds.
And whose breath give life to all the world,
Hear me! I am small and weak,
I need your strength and wisdom.

Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes
ever behold the red and purple sunset.
Make my hands respect the things you have made
and my ears sharp to hear your voice.

Make me wise so that I may understand
the things you have taught my people.
Let me learn the lessons
you have hidden in every leaf and rock.

I seek strength, not to be greater than my sister and brother,
but to fight my greatest enemy – myself.
Make me always ready to come to you
with clean hands and straight eyes.
So when life fades, as the fading sunset,
my spirit may come to you without shame.

Look Upon the Cross

O Jesus, as I look upon the cross,
may I learn to accept humility as You did.

May I strive to overcome a fear of being:
wronged, forgotten, ridiculed, humiliated.

May I overcome a need to be:
honored, praised, approved of, and always right.

May I look to You for example and not be
swayed by the desire to put myself first.

May I always strive to put You first.

Obsecro Te

I beseech Thee, most sweet
Lord Jesus Christ, grant that Thy Passion
may be to me a power by which I may
be strengthened, protected and defended.

May Thy wounds be to me food and drink,
by which I may be nourished, inebriated
and overjoyed.

May the sprinkling of Thy Blood
be to me an ablution for all
my sins.

May Thy death prove to me
Life Everlasting, and Thy Cross be to me
Everlasting glory.

In these by my refreshment, my joy, my preservation
and sweetness of heart. Who livest and
reignest world without end.

Amen

Prayer to the Two Hearts

O Heart of Jesus, pierced by our sins
and giving us your Mother on Calvary!
O Heart of Mary, pierce by sorrow
and sharing in the sufferings
of your divine Son for our redemption!
O sacred union of these Two Hearts!
Praised be the God of Love
Who united them together!

May we unite our hearts
and every heart
so that all hearts may live in unity
in imitation of that sacred unity
which exists in these Two Hearts.
Triumph.
O Sorrowful & Immaculate Heart of Mary!
Reign,
O Most Sacred & Eucharistic Heart of Jesus!
in our heart, in our homes and families,
in the hearts of those who
as yet do not know you,
and in all the nations of the world.

Establish in the hearts of all mankind
the sovereign triumph and reign of
Your Two Hearts
so that the earth may resound
from pole to pole with one cry:

Blessed forever be the
Most Sacred & Eucharistic Heart of Jesus
and the
Sorrowful & Immaculate Heart of Mary!

Obtain for me a greater purity of heart
and a fervent love of the spiritual life.
May all my actions be done
for the greater glory of God
in union with the
Divine Heart of Jesus and
the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Hear and answer our prayers
and our intentions
according to your most merciful will.
Amen

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit, Breath of God
we are a vessel for your use.
Fill us with a desire
for knowledge of You.
Spirit of Wind and Fire
make us burn with love for you.
Give us your gifts that we may use them
to further your kingdom on earth.
Shelter us as we look to You
for help in time of trouble.
Precious Paraclete,
one with the Father and the Son,
we depend on Your divine wisdom to lead us.
Surrounded by fear and danger,
we lean on You as your children.
Teach us to love one another
as You love us.
We are confident that You will uphold us
and lead us to glory with You in heaven,
Come Spirit of love and peace!
Amen

Prayer For Our Church

Lord, bless our church and keep it free
From bitterness and strife.
Teach us to lift our eyes to Thee,
The Way, the Truth and the Life.

The way is not an easy path.
Its challenge is the cross.
But we must follow all the way
And count it gain, not loss.

Our church is not a building, Lord,
That’s made of brick and stone.
Its fellowship goes round the world,
We do not work alone.

The gifts we give to heal the sick,
To help the blind to see,
To feed the hungry, clothe the poor.
We give them all to Thee.

A Prayer for Priests

O Jesus, I implore Your divine assistance for Your faithful and fervent priests;
for Your unfaithful and tepid priests;
for Your priests laboring at home or abroad in distant mission fields;
for Your lonely and desolate priests;
for Your young priests;
for Your dying priests;
for the souls of Your priests in purgatory.
O Jesus, keep them all close to Your Sacred Heart
and bless them abundantly in time and in eternity.
And may the gift of Mary, Your mother, to the disciple You loved, be Your gift to every priest.
Grant that she who formed You in her human image, may form them in Your divine image,
by the power of the Holy Spirit, to the glory of God the Father. Amen

Prayer of St. Francis

Lord make me an instrument of your peace
where there is hatred let me sow love
Where there is injury, pardon
Where there is doubt, faith
Where there is despair, hope
Where there is darkness, light
And where there is sadness, joy
O divine master grant that I may
not so much seek to be consoled as to console
to be understood as to understand
To be loved as to love
For it is in giving that we receive
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned
And it’s in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen
