Confirmation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Confirmation is the sacrament in which the baptized are strengthened by the Holy Spirit in order to bear witness to Christ and prepare to take on the role of a disciple.

What the Church teaches…<\/strong>

This is a Sacrament of Initiation in which the bishop or a delegated priest confers Confirmation through the anointing with chrism on the recipient\u2019s forehead, which is done by the laying on of the hand, while saying, \u201cBe sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit.\u201d Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism by a special outpouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which seals and confirms the baptized in union with Christ and calls them to greater participation in the worship and apostolic life of the Church.

Confirmation at St. Joseph<\/strong>

The Sacrament of Confirmation is received in the 8th grade year at St. Joseph. Preparation for this Sacrament is done through religious education in both our parish school<\/a> and Parish School of Religion<\/a>.

Students who are not enrolled in a Catholic elementary school or who are enrolled in Covington Catholic High School or Villa Madonna, should reach out to Steven Fischer, our Coordinator of Religious Education at sfischer@stjoeparish.net or 859-240-8207 for more information on enrolling your child.
